Eagle Watch
Woodstock, Cherokee County, Georgia
The original neighborhood that defined Towne Lake, Eagle Watch remains one of the most complete and well-established golf and country club communities in Cherokee County — over 1,300 homes, three pools, 14 tennis courts, and an Arnold Palmer championship course, all inside the heart of Woodstock.
About Eagle Watch
History & Character - Eagle Watch holds a distinction no other neighborhood in Woodstock can claim: it was the first community built in what became the Towne Lake master-planned corridor, and the development that established the standard every neighborhood that followed would measure itself against. Developed by Arvida — one of the most prominent and prolific residential developers in the Southeast — Eagle Watch broke ground in the late 1980s and was largely built out between 1988 and 2007. The community spans over 1,200 acres of rolling terrain, mature hardwoods, and natural lakes in the heart of Woodstock, with lot sizes ranging from under a quarter acre to nearly four acres and homes running from approximately 1,900 to over 5,300 square feet. The variety of home styles — ranch plans, traditional two-story homes, executive golf course homes, and larger estate properties — reflects nearly two decades of construction across multiple sections of the community. At its core Eagle Watch is a neighborhood that has genuinely grown up: the landscaping is mature, the trees are established, and the community culture built around its pools, tennis programs, and golf course has been active and continuous for over 35 years.
Amenities - Eagle Watch delivers one of the most comprehensive amenity packages in the Woodstock market. Three pools — including a family pool with diving board, a lap pool, and a winter pool — serve residents year-round. Fourteen lighted tennis courts support some of the most active ALTA team programs in Cherokee County, supplemented by pickleball courts, a basketball court, a volleyball court, a dedicated fitness center, multiple parks and playgrounds, two pavilions, and a full-service clubhouse. A resident tennis pro-shop adds a level of programming that few neighborhood communities offer. The combination of scale, variety, and consistent upkeep across this amenity package is a significant driver of long-term value in Eagle Watch — it is not a community where the amenities have aged out and been quietly neglected.
Golf — The Eagle Watch Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course designed by Arnold Palmer and his longtime design partner Ed Seay, and has been open since 1989. The layout plays 6,741 yards from the championship tees across rolling terrain with multiple water hazards woven throughout — a characteristic that earned the course recognition and challenged generations of residents and public players alike. The course operates as part of Canongate Golf Clubs, a membership network spanning 26 courses at 23 clubs across central and North Georgia, giving members access well beyond Eagle Watch itself. Several homes within Eagle Watch border the course directly, and the community also backs up to Corps of Engineers property adjacent to Lake Allatoona — an unusual natural buffer that gives portions of the neighborhood a degree of privacy and permanence that can't be built away.

Thinking About Selling in Eagle Watch?
Eagle Watch is a large and diverse community — there is a meaningful difference in value between a ranch plan on a smaller interior lot and an executive home on a golf course lot with a finished basement, and buyers know it. In a neighborhood with this much variation, pricing precision and targeted presentation are the difference between a sale at full value and one that lingers.
At Gunter Property Group we know what drives premiums in Eagle Watch — golf course and lake-view positions, lot size and privacy, updated kitchens and owner's suites, and finished basement living space. Getting that story told clearly and correctly from day one is how you protect your return in this market.
