Tony Gunter lives it — from the land it sits on to the structure built on it, from the deal that makes it viable to the moment both parties walk away to the next chapter of their lives. That perspective doesn't come from a real estate classroom. It comes from a lifetime of work that just happened to point here.
How I Got Here
My path to real estate wasn't a straight line — it rarely is for anyone worth knowing. My family comes from the upstate of South Carolina, earned a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from Clemson University, and spent years as a Georgia Registered Forester working with tracts of land across the south. That work taught me to read land — its value, its potential, its limitations — in ways that most people never learn to see.
From forestry I moved into renovation and investment — buying properties, rehabilitating them, and either holding them as rentals or returning them to the market. I became a licensed general contractor because doing the work myself made me better at evaluating it. I got my real estate license because keeping that function in-house made the whole operation smarter. Vertical integration — every piece of the process under one roof, understood from the inside out.
Cherokee County and North Fulton County are my backyard. In Atlanta everything revolves around traffic, and I work the markets I know and I'm willing to drive to. That's not a limitation — it's a commitment to genuine local expertise rather than spread-thin generalizations.
Why This Work
First and most honestly — I do this to provide for my family. That clarity keeps me focused and accountable in a way that vague professional mission statements never do.
But there's more to it than that. There's something deeply satisfying about taking a deal from cradle to grave — seeing every piece come together, solving the problems that surface along the way, and finishing with a bow on it. It's creative work. It's strategic work. It's a little bit like hunting, if I'm being honest — the patience, the preparation, the moment when everything lines up.
What I didn't expect when I started was how much I'd value what I think of as the peaceful exchange of housing. Watching a seller close one chapter and a buyer open another — two parties going their separate ways toward something new — never gets old. Getting that transaction right, creating a genuine win for everyone involved, is the part of this work I'm most proud of.

I've lived a lot of different lives professionally — forester, contractor, investor, agent — and personally too. I moved around constantly as a kid and continued that pattern well into my career, working across the country and traveling to roughly 35 countries on business. I'm fluent in Spanish and retain enough Mandarin Chinese to get myself into trouble. I've been married for nearly 30 years, I'm a father, and when I'm not working I'm usually outdoors.
